National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation: Federal Regulatory and Legislative Report

The National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation recently released the following federal regulatory and legislative update:

  • Congresswoman Diana DeGette (D-CO) and Congressman Fred Upton (R-MI) recently introduced the bipartisan Cures 2.0 legislation. The legislation is primarily made up of provisions aimed at speeding up the delivery of groundbreaking pharmaceutical cures, treatments, and innovations. The legislation also It also includes the Telehealth Modernization Act, a proposal supported by NPHI, which would permanently remove Medicare’s geographic and originating site restrictions, including for hospice patient recertification.
  • Policy Brief Detailing COVID-19 Flexibilities and Updates – NPHI has updated a policy brief which complies information related to existing COVID-19 flexibilities provided to hospices. The full policy brief can be found here.
